F.A.Q.

Which is better for me? Squarespace or WordPress?

This is a question I get asked quite often. If you are not tech savy and you are looking for something VERY minimal and E-Commerce is your focus, I highly recommend going with Squarespace.

The pros to Squarespace:

  • Easy to Use
  • Everything is in One Place
  • 40+ Beautiful Templates to Choose From
  • Automatically Mobile Responsive
  • 24/7 Support
  • Hosting & Security isn’t your responsiblity

The cons to Squarespace:

  • Limited with Design
  • Limited with Plugins
  • If you use a third-party plugin and run into issues, Squarespace Support cannot help you
  • You cannot edit specific to mobile
  • Limited with SEO Options

If you are looking for more control, more design, and want to focus on an information website, blogging & SEO, WordPress is the better option.

The pros to WordPress:

  • Affordable & Managed WordPress Hosting Available
  • Been around since 2003; stable platform with constant updates
  • Hundreds of Templates to Choose From
  • Great Design Flexiblity
  • Thousands of Plugins to Choose From
  • Better SEO Capabilities
  • You can edit specific to Desktop AND edit for mobile use

The cons to Worpdress:

  • Has a learning curve
  • No Support – If you have issues you need to contact your hosting provider or theme developer
  • Requires more mainteance (Update the theme & plugins every few weeks)
  • More prone to hacking (Which is why we use a managed hosting platform that offers secruity in the packages)
Do you offer any help with Wix, Weebly or any other website builders?

I am not a fan of Wix. I have helped many small businesses get off Wix and move to either Squarespace or WordPress which has saved them time and money in the long-run. Wix overcharges their customers and doesn’t offer you as much freedom as these 2 recommended platforms can. Plus there are a few other nerdy behind-the-scenes parts about it I don’t like.

In regards to Weebly or any other platforms, I do not at this time offer any help redesigning those. If you are dead-set on staying with those platforms, but you want to change the design, I recommend doing a Creative Consult with me where I can guide you to what changes to make, or I can ask around and try to find you a web designer who can help.

How long does it take a build our website?

Each package has a different timeline. Before we build out your site, we will have a discovery call, a content gathering deadline, and then we’ll pick a day to build out your site! The Do It Yourself build takes half a day, the Done With You Build takes a full 14-16 hours and the Custom Package can take up to a week.

How does the Payment Process Work?

Once we get off our call, I will write up a proposal and send it to you. Once the proposal is accepted, an automatic contract will be sent to you. Please read the contract, sign it, then you’ll receieve the invoice.

I require a non-refundable 50% deposit upfront with the remaining 50% at time of project delivery.

A payment plan can be arranged if needed.

Do you offer any refunds?

Unfortunately, due to the nature of this work and the amount of time invested to create custom items, I do not offer refunds.
